The first stage in the Hero's Journey happens at the very beginning of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. When Hagrid takes Harry Potter down to Diagon Alley, they first have to go to the wizarding bank, Gringotts. While in Gringotts, Hagrid goes into a vault which only contains one small package, a package which was surrounded by mystery (Harry Potterand the Sorcerer’s Stone 76). When Harry sees this package, he knows that it is an item of mystery and wants to know the story behind it and the story of it. This is Harry's initial Call to Adventure.
